What a Shock

My alarm went off with a painful ring this morning and I grumpily stumbled out of bed and into my running clothes. As I munched on a small piece of a granola bar, I contemplated how in the world my legs were going to move at such an ungodly hour. How quickly the body forgets its normal routine!

Down at the gym I felt fine. My legs were stiff from my swim yesterday so I kept my run easy and warmed up for 2 miles at an 8 min/mile and then did negative splits until I had completed 5 miles. I felt so much better and more awake after, I never regret a run!

It’s freezing out today so I decided to wear my new corderoys that I got for an amazing deal at Urban Outfitters.

The tag says $9.99 but all sale items were half-off, meaning I paid $5 for pants that were originally $119. Score!

I sipped on some coffee on my commute and then ate breakfast after arriving at work.

I had a mix of two cereals (one was TJ’s Multi-grain O’s but I forget the other one) with raisins, a banana, and almond milk.

So simple but so tasty :)

Have a great Tuesday!

How are you adjusting to being back to the norm after the holidays? Any tips/suggestions to make it easier?

Oh and two great articles from Runner’s World. One on what to wear running in the cold and the other with 12 running resolutions for 2012. Enjoy!
