A few weeks ago (or last week, they’re all running together) the lovely Mary from minutes per mile nominated me for the Beautiful Blogger award. Thank you!

So now, I get to tell you 7 things about myself. Enjoy!
1) One of my favorite things about the blogging community is the sharing of ideas. Whether it be training tips or recipe ideas. I’ve actually starting hoarding recipes and I probably have 1,000 bookmarked. Last night, I made Emily‘s Roasted Cauliflower Tahini Salad. It was awesome!
2) I really don’t like feet. Especially toenails. I get the shivers every time I clip mine and I won’t even tell you how close I was to passing out when I lost the toenail on my pinkie toe.
3) I ran cross-country in 6th grade and really liked it. By 7th grade I had decided that running wasn’t a social enough sport and decided to play basketball instead (I really loved it basketball back then). Did I tell you I’m 5’3. #poorlifedecisions.
4) I can’t run/workout with iPhone ear buds. Instead I have to buy the old crappy clip-ons from CVS or Kmart so they stay in my ears. Does anyone else have this problem?
5) I don’t miss dairy all the much (besides cottage cheese) but overnight oats are not the same without it. Enter cold oatmeal. It’s much more filling than the raw oats and it’s cold. Win-win!
6) I used to drink like 4 diet coke cans a day. Then I decided it was unhealthy and cut cold turkey. I haven’t had one since.
7) I have really bad luck with electronics and cars. They always break/fall apart on me. My old car was a VW Beetle and it ALWAYS drove different/broke down whenever I drove it. However, it was totally fine for everyone else. I’m also a computer virus magnet. Don’t even ask my mom how many computers we had that got viruses. Yikes!
I’m also supposed to nominate 7 other bloggers but I think it’s more fun to get a discussion going in the comments. Tell me something about you!
In terms of workouts, tonight I’m running the Strike Out ALS 5k (you still can too, they will have registration open until 6:25 tonight!), so I kept my swim workout short and simple. Just 1,650 meters at more normal speed. Hopefully I’ll be able to get in some sprints later this week.
Have a wonderful Tuesday!

I love Diet Soda too. We used to have a free fountain machine at the law firm I worked at (weird right? lol) so I was guzzling it all day….so so bad! Now I only have it at restaurants when we go out to eat which is maybe twice a month. Have a great 5K race!!
That is really weird… but I would have done the exact same thing! Thanks
I have a hard time getting earbuds to stay in my ears as well. What’s up with that? Small ear canals or something?
Yeah who knows. It’s so annoying though! I can never borrow anyones shuffle or ipod because of it.
I played volleyball for 3 years (7th, 8th, and 9th grade) but then quit because A. Everyone else kept getting taller and I didn’t. B. I wasn’t good enough to be the shortest member of the varsity team. Apparently 5’4 is NOT the idea volleyball player height haha
Haha I think I lived in denial for a loong time. We also didn’t have a great team and a lot of the girls were short. It made it easier to rationalize
GOOD LUCK in your 5k tonight!! yay! how fun on a Tuesday night!
I’m currently rocking only 8-toenails…you would not like the sight
I cannot eat oatmeal cold…even though it’s going to be 102* I’m currently eating hot oats!
and I’ve always been way too uncoordinated to play any sports that involve balls!
I hope your Tuesday goes great!
xoxo!
Thank you
I ate hot oats all weekend even though it was over 100 degrees. So I know where you’re coming from
.
Have a great Tuesday as well!
oh, goodie- go you, beautiful blogger! i agree with you on ear buds. i do use ear buds but find when i get pretty sweaty they start to fall out! fun facts. thanks for sharing.
I always feel so goofy when I keep having to put my ear buds back in. So frustrating. Thanks for nominating me
I wear the cheapie earphones too!!! I’ve got to get them from Walgreens. They’re Sony but the cheapest ones with the foam pads over the ear thingy. LOL
Those are the same ones that I have.. hahaha!
I run without earbuds sometimes and use my speaker from iPhone. One time I did this running on the lakefront path early and it was a really catchy song so I started to dance mid run. Needless to say I got some weird looks. I also hate feet and I have a tendency to loose or break cellphones! Good luck at the ALS 5k
I’ve never thought to just use the speaker on my phone. Smart thinking!
